Summer Institute Schedule

We will start each day at 9:00 AM to give folks plenty of time to arrive and finish on both days at 3:00 PM.
Lunch will be provided.

The focus will be on learning as much as possible about the Corn Ear Worm so that you are comfortable growing and experimenting with them with your students.  You will see examples of previous student projects through power points and poster sessions that were presented this past year during the Student Presentation Days at Weslaco; Temple; and College Station lab sites.  About 100 teachers/students/parents/educational administration/scientists were present at each location.

We will also look at research that is being conducted at the Lubbock site as each of the 110 USDA/ARS labs nationwide has a different focus.

In Lubbock we will look at:
Peanut research with a field trip
Cotton growing and ginning research with a field trip out to the Ginning facility at New Deal
Different methods of irrigation
